Footwear plays an important role in our daily lives. They not only make our feet comfortable from external things, they also make us look nice. These days’ people have a lot of choices. There are so many shoe manufacturers these days that make shoes. Shoes are one of the mankind’s oldest inventions and have a lot of facts that are not known to people.

Here we are going to tell you a few facts about shoes.

A few fundamental facts about shoes: A handmade shoe usually goes through 6 steps namely; Last making, Pattern making, Clicking, closing, closing, making and finishing. But if the shoe is factory made, it then goes through four stages; Clicking or cutting department,  Closing or Machining Department, Lasting and making department, and finishing department and the shoe room.

Historical Facts: A cave painting which is around 15,000 years old had depicted the first image of any kind of footwear. In the Middle East shoes were worn in order to save the feet from the hot desert sand. In the sixteenth and the seventieth century Europe, heels were painted red in colour.

Women and Shoes: According to a leading fashion magazine, and average women buy around 469 pairs of shoes in her lifetime, and in the process spend a huge amount of money on them.

Shoes Etiquettes:  In Japan it is customary for a person to remove the shoes before entering anyone’s house or establishment. In a lot of cultures, when putting on the shoes, it is customary to wear the right foot shoes first and while removing the shoes, it is important remove the left shoe first.

Types of shoes:  There is a variety of shoes today. People can wear anything from boots to sandals, open toe shoe, wedge shoe, Mule shoe and Mary Jane amongst others.
