Duck on ODI debut and a century on the Test debut – Although, Suresh Raina is known more for his exploits in the One-Day format rather than test format; you will be surprised to know that he was out for a duck on his ODI debut but had scored a century on his Test debut. It remains his only test ton till date.

First Indian to score a T20 century – There is no doubt that Raina is a specialist when it comes to T20. He has many records in the shortest format of the game. He was the first Indian batsmen to score a century in the T20 format. He is also the only southpaw to score a century in the World Twenty20.

India’s youngest T20 captain – Suresh Raina became the youngest ever captain for India in the T20I format. With this, he also became the second youngest player to lead India in any format, the youngest being Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi at the age of 21.

Never missed a game for CSK – When it comes to IPL, there is a high probability that he has played the highest number of IPL matches, as he has not missed out even a single game for CSK. Even his captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has missed out on three games in IPL.

Highest run scorer in IPL history – Suresh Raina has played a record 132 IPL matches and has scored 3,699 runs. These runs have come at a good average of 34 plus. This includes a century and 25 half-centuries.

Suresh Raina the artist – Suresh Raina had also lent his voice for a song for a Bollywood movie called ‘Meeruthiya Gangsters’. The song was titled ‘Tu Mili Sab Mila’. Apart from his singing, he is also a gifted musician. He is also talented saxophone player.
