Shamitabh 2015 movie story|synopsis

Shamitabh is a story of two actors Amitabh Sinha (Amitabh Bachchan) and Danish (Dhanush) and how they come together to make a film. Sinha is an alcoholic who lives in Mumbai and once wanted to become an actor, on the other hand Danish is a junior artist who wants to become a Bollywood superstar, but the only problem is that he deaf and mute, but he makes up for his short comings by his fiery spirit.  He has his usual dreams of a small town boy making it big in Bollywood, but his limitations hamper this dream of his. This is where Amitabh comes in. The only thing which is working out for Amitabh is his baritone voice.

Both of them with the help of a kind assistant director, both of them try a shot at stardom. They call themselves Shamitabh. While Danish acts, Sinha lends his voice to him. They have some sort of a love-hate relationship. Both of them try to outdo each other, perhaps this thing which works for the movie. It is interesting to watch when both of them have a go with each other. Amitabh constantly reminds Danish that it is Sinha’s voice and not his Danish’s acting. He even makes fun of Danish’s frail figure. The movie also takes a dig at the current Bollywood scenario in one of its songs, Pidly.

As far as the performances are concerned, Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush have done an excellent job of portraying Amitabh Sinha and Danish. Amitabh flows through his motor-mouth character with such ease. He even has no problem to the idea that his character lives in shack in a graveyard. Dhanush has yet again impressed us with his acting skills (Watch out for this guy in the future).  Even though it was Akshara  Haasan’s debut movie, she has done quite a good job. She doesn’t look awkward or feel awkward in front of the camera.

When it comes to direction, R Balki has done a good job again. Be it Cheeni Kum or Paa, Balki has managed to churn something fresh again for the movie goers. Shamitabh a movie to watch out for.
