Know Thyself – Book Review

Gian Kumar, the Delhi-based author answers our questions related to spirituality in a simple and seamless manner, in his first series of 3 books- Know Thyself, Think from the heart and the Ultimate Reality. Since the earliest of times, people have searched for definitive responses to questions such as; Who am I? Where do I come from? Does god exist? What is the essence of my relationship with him?

Born in a religious Hindu family in Burma, Kumar was brought up on traditional principals. Kumar is a deep curious thinker, who moved towards spirituality after struggling with his curiosity regarding God and his purpose of existence. Spirituality provided him with a framework of morality and helped him become a better person. Having found inner peace, he reinforces his belief that knowledge is the greatest to mankind as he imparts his experimental learning in an attempt to inspire others to find meaning in their lives as well.

If you really feel that you know yourself, then you should get a hold of the book, Know Thyself and have an insightful spiritual journey to discover your true self.

The author describes the situation like this, “Every phase of life requires change. Questions such as who am I? Where have I come from? Where do we go, among others, led me on my personal quest to seek the ultimate truth about life and my true self. Having found some measure of peace and understanding, I felt the need to share my experimental findings with others”, said Kumar. “As you pursue the extensive elaborations of the self herein, regarding knowledge, awareness and relisation, you will surely find the help needed in transforming your life to reach the fullness and completion you yearn for and deserve,” Kumar further added.

Gian Kumar also explained that a true self lies within. It needs courage to be coaxed out, accepted and loved. “I could do it, can you?”  asks Kumar.

Know Thyself is all about finding yourself. It is an amalgamation of the author’s knowledge and thoughts in science, spirituality and philosophy. The book is worth the read.
