Akshay Kumar is in Delhi to promote – The Shaukeens.

Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Annu Kapoor and Piyush Sharma along with the film’s director Abhishek Sharma, were present in New Delhi recently to address a press conference to promote their upcoming film, The Shaukeens, which is a remake of the 1982 film The Shaukeens. Fellow cast member, actress Lisa Haydon was absent due to being diagnosed with dengue.

The comedy is all set for release on 7th November with popular singer Yo Yo Honey Singh (Alcoholic & Manali Trance) providing the music for the film.

Speaking at the press conference, Akshay Kumar shared his view on comedy movies saying, “In India, actors playing comedy roles are not appreciated as much as they deserve to be. Internationally, comic actors are honoured with National Awards and are loved by the audience.

“Here, in our industry the actor who receives the Best Romantic Award is called the best actor of the movie but the comic actor only gets the Best Comedian Award and he is not even considered as the Best Actor. This somehow is really disappointing. Making others laugh is not an easy job, it’s really a tough job and yes we hope that our audience will love The Shaukeens.

Piyush Sharma talked about how the movie is family oriented and can be seen by the whole family. “People can watch The Shaukeens with their families – there are no sex jokes and it is free from anything vulgar. It is a film that can be enjoyed with friends, families and relatives”, Piyush Sharma said.
