Try These Lip-Smacking Recipes

Black Forest Cake

Ingredients

Eggs : 5

Sugar : 125 gms

Plain flour : 125 gms

Dark cocoa : 5 gms

Method

Beat sugar and eggs till it forms and becomes whitish.

In the mean time, sieve all dry ingredients.

Preheat the oven at 180°.

Now put this dry mixture slowly into the egg sugar mix with a metal spoon, mixing lightly in one direction. Grease container with butter and plain flour.

Now bake in oven for 25-30 min.

Icing

Ingredients

Fresh cream : 1 kg

Cherries : 1 tin

Cooking chocolate : 100 gms

Thin Sugar syrup : 1/2 cup

Rum : 1/2 cap

Method

Cool the cake.

Remove skin (top layer).

Slice the cake in 2 parts.

Take thin sugar syrup (cold), add the rum to it and brush the syrup nicely on the first layer.

Put a thick layer of cream.

Deseed a few cherries and put over the cream.

Now put the other layer of the cream, again put syrup and a thick layer of cream and garnish with chocolate flakes. (You can grate cooking chocolate).

Put blobs of cream with cherries on top.

Deep Dark Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

Sifted flour : 1 cup

Sugar : 1 cup

Cocoa : 1/4 cup

Baking powder : 3/4 tsp

Baking soda : 3/4 tsp

Salt : 1/2 tsp

Eggs : 1

Milk : 1/2 cup

Veg oil : 1/4 cup

Vanilla essence : 1 tsp

Boiling water : 1/2 cup

 

Method

Combine all the dry ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

Add remaining ingredients except boiling water. Beat at medium speed for about 2-3 min.

Now stir in boiling water and pour in a greased jelly mould.

Bake at 180 degrees for about 25 min or till a knife comes out clean.

Cool on a rack and you can ice it or have it plain.

Icing

Ingredients

Fresh cream : 1/2 cup

Cooking chocolate : 1/2 cup

A handful roasted almonds

Thin sugar syrup : 4-5 tbsps

Method

Pour the sugar syrup over the cake.

Grate the cooking chocolate and keep aside.

In a pan bring the cream to a boil and add the cooking chocolate and very quickly mix it.

Let the mixture cool to applying consistency – apply on the cake and sprinkle with cut roasted almonds.

Since the cake is not too tall you need not make layers.
