Lumos maxima, hopes and desires, lumos maxima!
We had learnt to keep the Potterheads in us subdued for a long time now. We watched Harry drop off his son at platform 9 ¾ quarters but saw Harry bumping his head running towards it, slightly blurred, due to the tears in our eyes. Our grieving for this end of an era was nostalgic, an end we could never be prepared for, but would have to endure anyway.
The Warner Bros teaser dunks you in a barrel of nostalgia. You don’t hear Newt say”lumos Maxima”, you feel it drum a melody in your bones. You don’t care what the story will be about, you get excited about exploring another wizarding universe. It’s not about a new movie; it’s about revisiting the world of the old ones in a new way. The trailer is an experience in itself. True Potterheads are nodding in approval by now. If you aren’t, you need to watch this. All of this happens instantly, without the trailer actually revealing anything.
Set in an America before Voldemort, This trailer subtly makes you take the hint of this being about Newt finding lost beasts. It isn’t. Old characters might be returning, we hear a woman who sounds like a young Minerva. This is about kickstarting a new world in the H.P universe.
