Apple Watch

Apple Watch

With a number of mobile manufactures coming out with smart watches, it was important for Apple to come out with a similar product. Hence, the idea of the Apple watch was born. The way things are going one these days; there might be a possibility that smart watches might be the future phones someday. But right now they function just as phone accessories.

Since the time Apple announced that it will be launching the watch in 2015, people have been just waiting for it to come out. The Apple watch comes in three variants, two sizes and six different finishes. It will be perhaps Apple’s most personal product which has been designed till date. Each variety comes with a 38mm and a 42mm case.

As far as the look is concerned, the Apple watch looks like a wrist worn version of iPhone 6. The watch has similar rounded corners, a black screen border and the curved edges of the screen. Even the body of the case is similarly rounded and tactile.

The build quality of the watch is quite good. There is a great detailing and the material feels really good. The straps of the watch are made of high quality.

As far as the toughness of the watch is concerned, it is water resistance, and not water proof. It is rated to the IX7 standard, which means that the watch can get wet in the rain, or withstand a splash of water, but it is advised that the watch not be submerged under water.

As far as the interface is concerned it is a mix. There are some familiar features, as well as some new ones too. Sometimes you will have to tap an icon (just like we do in smartphones) and sometimes we will have to scroll through the lists or zoom in and out and sometimes you might just have to push the button a bit harder. The screen of the watch is pressure sensitive.

The fact that there are many methods by which we can control the watch might be confusing initially, but with time one can easily get used to them.

The watch includes apps for emails, messaging, calendar, photographs maps and much more. Whatever is visible on your phone, will also be visible on your watch too. The music app is also great, as it allows controlling your music on your iPhone.

Probably the best feature of the watch is that it can double up as a great fitness device also. The watch has a heart rate monitor and it also has built-in sensors, which allow you to track your activities. It also has a workout app, which enables you to set targets and you can also choose from a variety of goal options.
