Rs 50K crore to MSMEs through banks, Odisha government’s objective

The Odisha government has set its eyes on to give a major boost to the MSMEs in the state.  The Odisha government aims to target Rs 50K crore to the MSMEs through the banks. This they aim to achieve by the year 2019.

A senior government official informed that the MSME ministry is doing all it can to ensure that the credit flow to the small scale units goes up drastically. The MSME ministry aims to promote 150,000 enterprises in the state. They also aim to generate employment opportunities for around 400,000 youths in the state.

The MSME ministry is also giving its final touches to the new Entrepreneurship Development Policy (EDP), which will be notified in three months. Under the new policy, an entrepreneurship development society will be set-up with incubators, which will not only provide training for the establishment for new units, but also impart education in various departments such as product design, packaging, technology up-gradation and financial management and marketing.
