Common skin care and hair problems and their cure.

Curing facial redness

Facial redness is caused by rosacea which is a chronic, inflammatory skin condition. Rosacea produces small red pus-filled pustules (bumps) and worsens with time if left untreated. It is often mistaken for acne or eczema, or some other skin allergy. Avoid using makeup as that can flare up rosacea. Visit a dermatologist who will give you isotretinoin or else doxycycline. Also IPL laser facials called photo facials help reduce this condition tremendously.

Removing stretch marks

About 75% to 90% of women develop stretch marks during pregnancy. It can also be caused by rapid and excessive weight gain or loss. There are a number of skin care creams and lotions available which if used daily can help to keep the skin supple. Applying the cream can encourage better circulation but not fade them completely. Laser treatment with Smart Xide 2 of Déka can also help to fade the marks, but you must consult a dermatologist for the right kind of skin care treatment.

Removing birthmarks

Getting rid of a birthmark immediately with laser treatments is rare since most of them lighten after a few treatments. Some may return and need re-treatment. It is often recommended to start laser treatment in infancy for best results because the stain and the blood vessels are usually smaller. It is said that a lighter shade stain often requires about 4 laser treatments, whereas the darker stains require 7 or more. A yellow light laser called flashlamp pumped dye laser is commonly used and has been the most effective at removing stains in infants and young children.

Removing facial hair

Take a complete medical evaluation before beginning any treatment for excess hair growth. In addition to measuring testosterone and DHEA sulfate levels, a thyroid test should also be done. Inform your doctor of all the supplements and vitamins you are taking and report any breast discharge. If possible, bring photographs to your skin care doctor to demonstrate changes in your hair growth in the last 5 years. Also you must start using topical agent containing eflornithine gel which makes hair growth much lesser.
