India Vs South Africa match preview

South Africa v India - Third One Day InternationalWill the men in blue change history in the fourth attempt?

With a convincing win over its arch rival Pakistan, India is looking forward to the match against South Africa, which will be played on February 22nd. This will be the fourth time that the two teams will be meeting in a World Cup. So far South Africa has managed to win the last three encounters. This particular match is perhaps more important to Team India than the Proteas, because a win against South Africa will be a huge morale booster for the Indian team. This fact was even acknowledged by Virat Kohli, the vice-captain of the Indian cricket team.

This game might be of little importance, but the winner of this game might become the group leader, as the other teams don’t look too convincing. Given their current form, Ab De Villiers’ South Africa is the clear favourite.

Even if we do a player-to-player analysis, it will definitely come out in the favour of South Africa. Be it India Vs South Africa ,Amla V/s Dhawan or De Villiers V/s Raina or Steyn V/s Yadav, South Africa is the better side.

After the recent beating at the hands of the Australians in the recently concluded series, India is looking to fight back. They proved themselves as a cohesive unit in the match against Pakistan. Defeating South Africa won’t be easy, but it is possible. Their match against Zimbabwe exposed the vulnerability of the Proteas’. If Indian bowlers can get their act together, there is a good chance that India can beat South Africa. This will also raise the morale of the Indian cricket team.

The battle will be against India’s batting line-up and South Africa’s bowling attack.  One of the biggest worry for the Indian Cricket team is the form of skipper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Another area where Indians seem to be shaky is the death overs. In the recent concluded matches, India has had a batting collapse quite a number of times during the death overs. If India wants to win matches in the World Cup, then it is high time that they up their game and take the fight to the Proteas.

It is time to given an answer to ‘Mauka Mauka’.
